Week 1 Progress

Week 1 Progress

In this week I have planned about the methodology and flow chart of this project. The discussion will include the problem statement definition, planning, research about project, designing, procurement, fabrication and testing and improvement or modification.

Problem Statement Definition

The first stage in the methodology process is problem statement definition. In this stage, it explains about the problem statement before developing the real project. Problem statement is a core to generate the idea and to solve the problem to develop the project. For this project, problems are found existed on the walker. For example; traditionally, a handicapped walker is picked up and placed a short distance ahead of the user. The user then walks to it and repeats the process. If the elders or handicapped person have to move using the manual walker, they must raising the walker step by step where it is very difficult and requires more energy to the user. Using the remote sensing walker, the users only need to push the switch at RF remote control for movement such as forward or reverse and left or right. This walker is easily park or return to the user where it only need the depressing of the switch at RF remote control and it also facilitate the user to go to anywhere without inconveniencing other people.

Planning

The second stage the methodology process is planning. A planning should be a realistic view of the expectation. It is the framework within which it must operate. This stage is very important to achieve the target and to finish the project on time. This phase also will give an overview understanding of the project which being conducted. The entire requirement that is needed in order to make the project successful can be found within this phase. After all the overall information being gathered, specific planning toward achieving the goal of the project can be constructed.
